Don't Give Up on Me

I can't believe it has been 7 months. Many of you may wonder why I'm not posting, but I like kissing these cheeks too much to be on the computer. I'm resolving to do better.

It's Your Day!

I just have to wish my sweet sister a Happy Birthday. We got to go to California for a few days. Whitney and Ryan came to visit, mostly to see the baby. It was so fun hanging out.

Whitney you are the best. We admire your talent and creativity. We love your sense of humor and love for life. We hope your birthday is everything you want and more. Have a great day. We love you.

One Month

I can hardly believe it has been four weeks. The time has already flown by and she is getting so big. I'm trying to savor every minute, but it is so hard, she grows so quickly. She is so fun to have around, we feel so blessed.

We did a little photo shoot this week, you can see a preview of some of the pictures here http://bluelakephotography.typepad.com/blue_lake_photography/2009/03/sugar-and-spice-and-everything-nice.html. Her photos are 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 13, 15.

Visitors

We've enjoyed visits from lots of family members. They are flocking to see the baby, not Chris and I. Both my sisters came, unfortunately I don't have pictures on my camera with them. My grandma came for the day from Dayton to meet her great granddaughter. Chris' mom came for a week and it was fabulous having her. We just sat around playing with baby and had a great time. We miss you Mom O. My grandparents and uncle came to town, they ohhed and ahhed over her, it was fun to see.

We love introducing her to the family. She does so well being passed around to everyone. It has been so nice visiting with everyone.

Our New Life

Many of you already know because you check my mom and sister's blogs, but I'm finally getting to it. We are happy to announce the arrival of our sweet little girl.

18 3/4 inches

She has brought such joy to our home. She is very mellow mannered and we love just staring at her. We are terribly tired and have a lot to learn, but we are enjoying every moment. We are so grateful for our little miracle and are so excited to have her be a part of our family.

A Few More Pictures

Hope you don't mind if I show off a little. We can't stop taking pictures, I need to share some for our family and friends that don't get to be here to see her. Enjoy.

Playing Catch Up

This whole new baby thing has thrown me off a little. I had been working on updating and then the baby came early. I've seemed to have lost track of time. I'm going to try and go back and make some updates. Feel free to go back and read, but don't feel like you have to. Things have been relatively boring, until now. Thanks for your patience as I work backward.

Happy Holidays!

It seems that the time has flown by and Christmas is upon us. It has been a busy season thus far, but I am enjoying it. We spent Thanksgiving in South Pasadena with the O'Neil clan and had a great time. We played extremely hard, did wonderful activities, and ATE a lot. Our times together seem few and far between so we try and soak up as much as possible when we are all together.

The following weekend Chris had finals so I went down with him to see Whit and Ry. They were great hosts and it was fun to see where they live and what they have been doing. After Chris was done with school we all went to Redlands for a holiday dinner party with good friends. It was a whirlwind weekend, but got me in the mood for the holidays.

As soon as I got home I repacked and went with my mom to the Bay Area to visit my grandpaents. It had been a while, so it was really nice to see them. The motivation for the trip was having lunch in the city at Neiman Marcus. When we were kids we would go to the city for shopping, lunch, to see the decorations, and for the company office party. Good memories. Mom, grandma, and I took Bart in to meet one of grandmas friends. We had a such a delightful time. The food was fabulous, and the company even better. It is always so fun to see the enormous tree going up four stories in the middle of the restaurant. We of course did some shopping and enjoyed a girls day out. We help decorate grandmas house a little more, and worked on getting organized for Christmas.

Not the best photo, but fun to be out with the girls

Now that Chris has a month off of school he has been very gracious to help decorate the nursery. We've been working on making decisions for furniture, bedding, paint colors, etc. It is all coming up so quickly.

I'm struggling to get my shopping done, and am having a hard time accepting the fact that Christmas is one week away. We had some good snow this week which makes it seem very festive. I'm just really looking forward to being with all my family for the holiday. I hope you are enjoying the season, and you are done with your shopping. Things seem less stressful when it is all done.
