Our holiday season was great but a little rough going. I had surgery to remove an ovarian cyst in mid December. Of course if fell the day before Chris had ALL of his finals, great timing. It was a little sudden, thus I wasn't as organized for the holidays as I wanted. The doctor released me to travel so we headed to the California for Christmas at my grandparents. Had a great time with the family and loved getting away. Two days after Christmas we went out to the coast, Bodega Bay, with my fam to stay at my aunt and uncles place. The night we got there Chris was not feeling well, 24 hours later he was in surgery to remove his appendix. He was in the hospital for 3 1/2 days, in Santa Rosa. They released him to go on New Year's Eve. We drove him home to Reno (4 hours), not a fun trip for Chris but there is such comfort in being home. He continued to feel horrible, we went back to the ER where they admitted him for a bowel obstruction. Back into the hospital for 4 days. It was much nicer to be in Reno, we have a lot of friends that were so helpful to get him good treatment. Chris' mom came to town, which was such a help. It was a challenge to care for Chris when I was still recovering myself. It is great to have family that are close and willing to help. Thanks Mom O for all you did.
We are now on the up swing. We have matching Christmas '06 scars and look forward to no more hospitals in 2007. Chris may be the only person who has accomplished his New Years resolutions in less than a month. He lost 20 lbs due to the fact he couldn't eat or keep anything down for 10 days. We decided there had to be some bonus for going through all that pain. We found that we have taken our good health for grantide, and are encouraged to eat better, exercise, and take better care of ourselves.
My New Years Resolution from this day forward is to be better at blogging. I'm at the computer all day with less and less work to do, the least I can do is blog a little. I hope to keep you updated more frequently. We hope everyone had a great holiday and we send you well wishes in this new year.
Here are some pictures of Bodega Bay and post Appendectomy.
